Hey Dizzle, thanks for the suggestions. In terms of advertising, I know there is Google Adsense, but are there any other kinds of advertising you recommend?
Thanks

The advertising service that google own is google adword, adsense is to place adverts on your site. I think that this is definitely worth the money. It allows you to target your advertising very well.

I like the site without ads

If you do need ads though, maybe you can hook up with a Hummer related business?
They might want to advertise on the site

I think placing a few small ads here would be a great idea, the owner is providing a great resource from us, so he deserves to be able to make a few $$ to cover the expenses etc of running the site

A great way to promote a forum is by going to other similar forums and putting a link in your signature. Additionally, controversial threads can inspire people to register and participate in discussion.

Perhaps, you could add a category for politics and/or Hummer drivers rights. A politics category always has controversial threads. And, such a category would be relevant, because many issues affect Hummer drivers, enthusiasts, and manufactures, such as those pertaining to government-imposed oil restrictions and gas taxes.

Nice idea. Hummer owner and enthusiasts (I like that term) are people too with diversified interests. Maybe if more thread topics are introduced, members will visit more often. Aside from the ones mentioned above, may you could add somethin on the environment (as humvees are 4x4), Locations around the world where humvees are prevalent. A database like the one at guns ru (sorry but I'm not allowed to post a link yet) could also help. Make this into a serious Humvee site. Takes a lot of hardwork but the rewards can be great.

This is a nice and friendly humvee site and I'd hate to see it going down the drain just because nobody heard about it.
