My first personal experience with "Hummer Hate"

...so I'm driving home from work yesterday on north bound 95 in the Columbia, Maryland area minding my own business, and a van of hispanic individuals comes up beside me pacing me. I look over and they are giving me the "thumbs down" and the middle finger, presumably for driving a Hummer. I can think of no other reason. I did absolutely nothing to provoke this.

It is a pretty sad state of affairs when uneducated individuals spread their hate to another because of the vehicle they choose to drive. I realize this is prevalent on the internet with hate websites against Hummers and in everyday society. I just think it's sad, and helps to explain all that is wrong with the world.

Did I mention I drive an H3 that I have put over 98,000 miles on in 3 years without a single problem? Oh yeah, and I'm getting 20 mpg hwy now. The Honda Odyssey that was pacing me gets 23 mpg hwy. So I get hate gestures for 3 mpg? Unreal.

Welcome to America! Land of the free, home of the stupid!

This is the best truck GM has ever produced IMHO.

Anybody else here have a personal experience with Hummer Hate?
Thanks for sharing.

when I first got my H3, some one sprayed acid on the side of the car and I had to get the entire side of mine painted with 1k miles on the car. People always say un-educated things like " u know ur destroying the environment". the funny thing is that people who say this drive cars like landrover and v8 lexus.

My revenge is to park close to hybrids.

I hear you

I occasionally get people telling me I am ruining the environment. (Especially FJ Cruizer owners) but I love our H3 and I would not trade it for anything. We get 18-20 mpg and it passes just fine, just drop it dow3n into third before you punch it.

We have rescued our 4X4 tractor, our 4X4 Chevy and lots of folks stuck in the mud. We own property in the mountains and our H3 must be part mountain goat cause it will go places our quads won't go.

I think you just ran into some uneducated folks with hummer envy.
