Has anyone had a problem with the engine reving up to around 2500 rpm when the clutch is depressed? My H3 will rev up occasionally for no apparent reason. I reported it to Lynch Hummer, and tehy in turn notified GM. GM says they are aware of the problem, but until enough people report it they will not do anything! If you have a similar issue with your manual H3, please get it reported to your dealer! They say it is a PCM programming issue...

I have a manual tranny H3 that I purchased from Lynch Hummer in January. Shortly after I noticed a strange quirk.. Occasionally when I shift gears the engine rev's up to around 2500 RPM while the clutch is depressed. If I am coming to a stop at a light, the engine rev's up to 2500 RPM until it feels like backing off. I reported the issue to the dealer, and they immediately looked into it. I drove the 100 miles for service, and the reloaded a new program in hopes of a cure. Less than a month later, the problem returned. Lynch Hummer contacted GM once again for advice, and were told that they were not going to do anything about it due to the fact that there were not enough complaints. The service manager at Lynch drove TWO of the maual H3's off the lot, and reported similar problems to me..... So what do I do? GM seems to be snubbing their nose at me. I want to keep the H3. But I am sure to lose when I do decide to sell or trade due to the defect that I would have to pass along to the next owner.....

I have had that happen once thus far. annoying, but not much of a problem. I don't really like my H3, so any excuse to get out of it would be great.

CAUTION! Rev Problem Leads to Wreck! Immediately we noticed an ntermittent rev problem. We thought no big deal. Early one morning my husband was driving on a flat paved road doing approx 35Mph. The engine rev'd on him, the road turned slightly and he couldn't turn. The axle snapped, he hit a tree, a telephone pole and came to a stop when he collided with a propane tank! Several neighbors were outside and witnessed the wreck. Neither GM nor Lynch Hummer claimed any responsibilty. GM sent a engineer out to examine the vehicle at the body shop where it was towed. GM took no liability what so ever. Damage to the vehicle was in excess of $14,000. IMPORTANT!!!!! This vehicle had NEVER been off road at all. If this happened to us with a vehicle with less then 5,000 miles on it it could happen to you! Please if you know of a story similiar to this email me. I'm afraid to get back in it with our 3 year old until a cause is determined. Thank you!

Has anyone see or read Fight Club? This reminds me of the incident in Fight Club where the automobile company will only do a recall on vehicles that randomly explode if the cost of a recall is less than the estimated costs of settling any lawsuits. All they care about is money. They don't care if they gave you a defective product. |
