| Hummers have their own purposes, like other cars. We can't drive a volkswagen up a torturous 45 degree mountain road at 100 kph (or more if the driver is suicidal). Its bad rep may esteem from its original use, but a lot of humanitarian and environmental organizations also rely on the humvee to get to their destinations.
Regarding the gas guzzling issue, there are other trucks-car out there with a similar appetite. Americans love big cars and the older models are as bad as the new humvees. And everybody uses gas from the middleast. So if that really is an issue, why don't we just ride a bike or walk everywhere, like what I do. It's environment-friendly, saves on gas, and gives you a good workout.
What if the Hummer will be converted to use biofuels? What would they say next? It's bad for the farm lands? Why won't they just admit that they are GREEN WITH ENVY? |
